Four Oaks Painting & Decorating completed a programme of exterior redecoration and remedial timber work at Sutton Court, an occupied residential development in Wolverhampton managed by Castle Estates.
The project covered painted external elevations, fascias, soffits, entrance details, metal handrails and other communal exterior features. During the work, areas of significantly decayed timber were uncovered around the roofline and entrance sections. These sections required proper removal and replacement before the decorative system could be completed.

Extensive decay uncovered beneath the existing fascia, with failed timber removed to expose the full extent of the deterioration.

New timber sections formed and fitted during the remedial repair phase, ready for priming and finishing.

A replacement timber section installed beneath the roofline, providing a sound substrate for the decorative coating.

Mobile tower access set up against an occupied elevation, keeping walkways clear for residents while high-level work was carried out.

Preparation included removing loose and failing coatings, localised repairs, removal of rotten timber where discovered, installation of replacement timber sections, priming and undercoating exposed timber, and preparing fascias, soffits, entrance details and external metalwork before recoating.
Rendered elevations were finished in a breathable light neutral masonry coating. Woodwork was prepared and finished in Dulux Trade Satinwood, with primer and undercoat applied to bare and newly repaired sections. Darker exterior details on handrails, entrance sections and roofline provided a defined contrast.
The completed project has refreshed the exterior appearance of Sutton Court while also resolving substantial areas of previously concealed timber deterioration.
The light masonry finish gives the development a cleaner and more consistent appearance, while the darker handrails, entrance sections and roofline details provide a defined contrast.
The defective timber was not simply concealed beneath new paint. The affected areas were opened, documented and replaced before decoration, providing Castle Estates with a properly completed maintenance project rather than a temporary cosmetic improvement.
