Doors removed, hardware bagged, full masking and filtered extraction set up.
Preparation & priming
Day 2
Sanding through grits, degrease, adhesion primer applied and denibbed.

Technical specification

How the work is actually specified.

Sprayed kitchens, wardrobes and joinery only perform as well as the system underneath them. Here's what we actually specify on site — the primers, the abrasives, the topcoats and the cure window — so you can compare like for like.

  • Coating system

    • Solvent degrease, then adhesion primer — Zinsser BIN, Cover Stain or Tikkurila Otex Akva depending on substrate
    • Two to three topcoats with full denib between, sprayed wet-on-wet within recoat window
    • Graco airless for volume work, HVLP for fine joinery and inset cabinetry
    • Optional 2K polyurethane clear over high-wear cabinet faces
  • Substrate & preparation

    • Doors and drawer fronts removed, hardware bagged and labelled
    • Mechanical sanding with Mirka random-orbital — P180, P240, P320 — with HEPA dust extraction
    • Edges broken, end-grain sealed, full tack-off before each coat
    • Spray booth or full on-site containment with filtered extraction
  • Product selection

    • Tikkurila Helmi 30 and Otex — Scandinavian-grade block resistance
    • Benjamin Moore Advance — alkyd-modified waterborne, levels like oil
    • Teknos Futura Aqua 40 and Bedec Multi-Surface for metalwork
    • Chosen on blocking resistance, sheen retention and realistic recoat windows
  • Finish & durability

    • Sheen options from 5% dead matt to 40% satin — specified per room
    • Touch-dry in hours, handleable within a day, fully cured at 21–28 days
    • Furniture-grade hand-feel, no roller stipple, no brush marks
    • Correctly specified kitchens perform like an OEM finish for 8–10+ years
FAQs

Common questions.

Will the finish last?+

Yes. With the right system and proper preparation, a sprayed kitchen will perform like a new factory finish for many years.

How long is a kitchen respray?+

Most kitchens are finished within three to five working days.

Will my house be full of paint mist?+

No. We build full containment with masking and sheeting, and select between Graco airless and HVLP systems to control overspray for the environment.
