What's involved.
Most staircase refurbishments are about reversing decades of nicotine, glue, dark stain and chipped paint without ripping out a sound staircase. Where parts are beyond saving (cracked newels, split spindles) we replace selectively.
We co-ordinate with carpet fitters where a new runner is going on, so the refurbished elements aren't damaged on the way in.

Where needed, yes. Most refurbishments keep the original spindles.
Can the handrail be stained dark again?+
Yes — we sand back and re-stain handrails in any tone. Spindles and stringer painted to contrast.
How long off-hands?+
Typically three to five days, with the staircase usable carefully throughout.
