Four Oaks Painting & Decorating was commissioned to install bespoke wall panelling and fully decorate this two-bedroom flat in Four Oaks.
The client wanted a modern, considered interior with panelling as the feature, lifting the apartment from an ordinary flat into a warmer, more characterful home. Everything from set-out and installation to filling, caulking, priming and finishing was completed in-house.
The finished flat now reads as a clean, contemporary apartment with real architectural detail — a strong example of what wall panelling and a careful decorating programme can bring to modern flats and apartments.

A considered, long-term finish.
Preparation was the largest single phase of this Four Oaks project. Old paint was sanded back where required, walls were filled and re-skimmed in places, and all woodwork was caulked and primed. Particular care was taken on the original joinery, which had decades of overpainting to address.
Walls were finished in Farrow & Ball Estate Emulsion across a curated palette specified with the client. Woodwork was hand-prepared and finished in Tikkurila Helmi 30 — chosen for its durability and depth — and joinery was sprayed in our controlled environment for a furniture-grade result.
The project was completed on schedule and within budget, with minimal disruption to the household. The finished result is sharp, hardwearing and built to perform for years rather than seasons.

Preparation
Walls were made good and prepared before panelling was set out. Once the panelling was installed, every joint, mitre, nail hole and caulk line was filled, sanded and refined so the walls read as one seamless surface before priming. Skirtings, trim and doors were sanded, filled and primed alongside the panelling.
Finish details
Panelling and woodwork were finished in a durable eggshell for a clean, contemporary look with everyday washability. Walls throughout the flat were repainted in fresh, modern tones to lift the whole apartment and complement the new panelling design.
