Skirting Board Installation
New skirting boards measured, fitted and finished — mitred corners, scribed joints, neatly caulked and painted in one continuous run by the same team.
- Fully insured · £5m public liability cover
- Dustless sanding where relevant
- Premium paint systems · clean protected work
- Residential and commercial
What's involved.
Skirting is one of the details that decides whether a room reads as 'tidy' or 'properly finished'. Tight joints, square corners, clean caulk lines along the wall and a consistent paint sheen all the way round — that's the brief.
We fit Torus, Ogee, Bullnose, Square Edge and bespoke profiles up to around 220mm. Modern homes usually look better with deeper profiles than the original spec; period homes often need a profile matched to existing rooms.
We work across Sutton Coldfield, Four Oaks, Mere Green, Little Aston, Lichfield, Tamworth, Birmingham, Solihull and surrounding areas.

Profile and height
We bring samples to the site visit so the profile suits the room rather than guessing from a catalogue.
Strip out
Existing skirting removed cleanly, wall damage made good before the new run goes on.
Cut and fit
Mitres on external corners, scribes on internals so the joint stays tight if the wall moves. Fixed with grab adhesive and pins.
Fill, caulk, sand
Pin holes filled, top edge caulked to the wall, joints sanded flush.
Painting
Primed where needed, then two coats of satin or eggshell to match the room scheme.

Common questions.
Should skirting go on before or after flooring?+
Depends on the floor. Carpet — skirting first, carpet tucks under. Laminate, engineered or vinyl — skirting goes on after the floor with expansion gap hidden behind.
What height of skirting do you recommend?+
For a standard 2.4m ceiling, 145–170mm reads as 'proper' without looking forced. Period rooms with higher ceilings carry 195mm+ comfortably.
Can you match existing skirting in another room?+
Yes — we either source the matching profile or have a bespoke run machined.
Do you remove the old skirting?+
Yes, included as standard. We dispose of the offcuts and waste at the end.
